I have been creating since I could hold a pencil, crayon and especially a paintbrush. Inspired early on by the masters of painting, Picasso, Rembrandt and Van Gogh allowed me to explore my inner artist. I was never one for academics, my head was always buried in a fantasy book or in a sketch pad. I have studied most art mediums such as acrylic, oil, pencil, charcoal and photography. I am a scholar of anything I want to learn or get my hands on. I currently focus a portion of my work with handmade paper.
For years I have also made art that supports cancer awareness, mainly breast and thyroid cancer. My grandmother, Dorothy, died when I was four from breast cancer. Three women in my family were diagnosed with breast cancer (get checked!!!). When I was 33, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had a complete thyroidectomy and lymph node removal in 2011. I am cancer free and always on the path of doing more of what I love with my spare time. These pieces I make are truly from my heart and made with love and internal peace. I hope you love them as much as I have loved creating them.
